We have a virtual machine built on Xubuntu 18.04, which will allow you more control over your linux environment than the lab machines. This image is set up almost exactly like our lab machines with all the packages we provide for development. You can download this VM image and view supporting documentation here.
We also have an older VM image built on Ubuntu MATE 16.04. It doesn’t have nearly as many packages, but it is a much smaller download. You can download the old VM here: cs-ubuntu-vm.zip (2.1 GB). Username: cs-student Password: H@ckTheWorld!
